urzon Soho is known as the filmmakers cinema because it’s the kind of venue where you could find yourself sitting next to a screenwriter or director. The bar is often buzzing with the sound of highly energised conversations discussing film but there are enough in the corner spots to tuck yourself away whilst waiting for your film to start.

Soho hosts regular director Q&As, documentary events, previews and often has exhibitions linked to the films being screened.

In 1998, the cinema was divided into a three screen complex and renamed Curzon Soho. With a fully licensed bar on the mezzanine level, the venue has proved hugely successful, voted London’s Number One cinema by Time Out readers.

Diane Abbott has revealed her staff try not to let her walk around her Hackney constituency alone after the murder of fellow Labour MP Jo Cox, as she called for parliament to consider launching an inquiry into racist and sexist abuse of MPs.

The shadow home secretary, who in 1987 became the first black woman to be elected as an MP, said she had been personally affected by the scale of abuse she has suffered, which reached a peak in recent few weeks during a furore over which way she would vote on the government’s Brexit bill.

“It kind of does get in your head, it kind of does demoralise you, and even though you know it shouldn’t, it does make you doubt yourself,” she told the Sky News programme Sophy Ridge on Sunday.

“When Jo Cox was unfortunately attacked and died, of course your first thoughts are for her husband and children and friends and family and the people of Batley and Spen who lost a great MP, but you also thought this isn’t all just abuse – maybe stuff can happen.

Avocado Mac and Cheese

he creamy avocado sauce coats the pasta nicely with a hint of garlic, cilantro, and lime. The creamy cheese sauce is out of this world. We used Pepper Jack cheese, which gave the dish a nice kick. If you want a milder flavor, you can use Monterey Jack. I garnished the macaroni and cheese with fresh avocado chunks. You can never have too much avocado!

This avocado macaroni and cheese is so easy to make. It is perfect for busy weeknights or whenever you are craving a comforting meal, but feeling lazy. You don’t even have to turn on the oven. To make the pasta, you boil the macaroni, make the avocado sauce in the food processor, and whisk together a cheesy sauce on the stove top. You combine everything in a big bowl and devour!
